Prior to this assignment, Shri Ramani was working as Associate Director and Head of the Resource Centre for Cyber Forensics in C-DAC Thiruvananthapuram. Under his leadership, this centre has indigenously developed several tools for carrying out computer forensics investigation, which are being used by leading Law Enforcement Agencies in India. The Centre has also been extensively helping Law Enforcement Agencies in analyzing cybercrime cases and also by providing training. Over 450 cybercrime cases have been analyzed in the Centre. RCCF has conducted more than 40 training programs in which over 1500 officers have been trained.
Shri Ramani has over twenty five years of experience in the design, development and implementation of embedded systems for real-time process control. He joined Kerala State Electronics Development Corporation (KELTRON) in 1981 as design engineer. During this tenure he was a key member of several successful projects like 9020 Control System Indigenisation, Programmable Logic Controllers, Distributed Control System Automation for Vishakapatanam Steel Plant etc.
Since 1988 he has been working in C-DAC (erstwhile ER&DCI) Thiruvananthapuram. He was the principal designer of the software architecture of several products like PC based Distributed Control System, Advanced Plant Automation and Control System (APACS), Transputer based High Performance Industrial Control System (THICS), General Purpose Control System (GPCS), Energy Management System etc. These products have been successfully installed and commissioned in several process control applications, covering a large spectrum of the industry, all over India.
Shri Ramani has his Bachelor’s degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from College of Engineering, Thiruvananthapuram. He has undergone six months training in Distributed control systems in Kent Process Control Systems, UK.
