A state of the art Network Concept Laboratory(NCL) is set up in
the Control And Instrumentation group.This NCL assists in the design,development
and simulation of Networking Projects. The NCL functions as a technology
provider,demonstrator and training facility for Asynchronous Transfer Mode
(ATM) and other networking technologies.The NCL has facilities to test the
different high speed networking technologies.The NCL has a core ATM backbone
switch of 10Gbps backplane,workgroup ATM switch,Ethernet backbone switch,multilayer
LAN backbone switch,Network Management Server(NMS) and NMS software.The
NCL also provides a high speed internet connection and intranet facility
to the various group in the centre.The centre has signed mou with M/s L&T,
Mysore, M/s Asianet Trivandrum,M/s Enercon, Bangalore and M/s Nest, Trivandrum
for using this facility. |
